Fear of the unknown

I will pick up where I left off on the previous post and that was where I was mentioning about the fear that minorities in Kashmir would have if a majority of the Kashmiris opted to join Pakistan instead of opting for either Independence or India, should we be given a choice in a future referendum. This fear is valid in my opinion considering the sectarian violence that plagues Pakistan. Pro-Pakistan proponents would be quick to point out the heinous tragedies in the rest of India and would be mentioning the Gujrat massacres even before I have a chance to complete my sentence. I would like to repeat that I am no fan of Indian politics and my reason for pointing the sectarain violence in Pakistan is that I am analysing that scenario and comparing it with the other two options of Independence or India.

There is definitely a possibilty that Kashmir could inherit the sectarian violence, and that would be the final nail in the coffin of religious tolerance in Kashmir. Although, the only way this would be possible is if the fundamentalist forces active in Pakistani politics become active in the valley. There is very little fear of that happening considering that similar parties in Kashmir never really had any success in the past when they started recruiting their cadres or when they tried their stint at coming into the mainstream politics.

I am not considering the Hurriyat in this category. The Hurriyat party is a conglomerate of all different parties and even the most hardline of their members, Mr Geelani, is a moderate by any standards. I may not be a big supporter of Mr. Geelani's pro-Pakistan overtures and his inexplicable admiration of all that Pakistan stands for; however inspite of all this, he has certain qualities that warrant the upmost respect from all Kashmiris and that is his moderate tone in regards to religious tolerance. He never called for violence against the Yatris or reprisals for the muslim killings in Jammu. For that, he has earned the respect of all Kashmiris.

I will continue with this post later today as duty calls....

  1. Dear Sir,
The fear of sectarian violence in Kashmir is not possible as Kashmiris are peace loving people. Moreover why we Kashmiris are also speaking the language of Indian rag tag politicians. What do you mean by moderate. We are Muslims and Muslims have only Quran and Sunnah of Rasool(A.S) as their guide.
يا أيها الذين امنوا اتقوا الله حق تقاته ولا تموتن ألا وانتم مسلمون >>
How can a Muslims have different approach towards day today Life when Rasool(A.S) said during His(A.S) last sermon on Mount Arafat

"O People, NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand my words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QUR'AN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray"
How can we differ in His(A.S) judgement regarding the matters of day today life.If we do ALLAH HAS ALREADY GIVEN THOSE A LABEL OF HYPOCRITES(MUNAFIQIN).
Allah Says in Surat An Nisa Ayat No-65
“But no,by your Lord, they can have no faith, until yhey make you (Mohammad.A.S) judge in all disputesbetween them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept(them) will full submission.
There can be no moderate or hardcore Muslims but Muslims and Non muslims. Please try to understand the propaganda of these Najas(Impure souls) of India. When we talk About Nizame Mustafa.Nizame Mustafa is Implementing Quran and Sunnah on our lives. So message is clear for those who want to divide us.
Rasool(A.S) when won Mecca He(A.S) didn't took any revenge. He forgave Ikrama ibn Abi Jahal (R.A)son of his arch enemy Umar ibn al Hisham(Abu Jahal)Ikrama(R.A) accepted Islam and fighted in the name of God until he got matyerdom in one of the fights with Kufaar non Muslims. We as Muslims especially Kashmiri Muslims never have killed any one in sectarian violence. We fear Allah as He has asked us to fear him
Allah says in Sura Al Baqara ayat-263
"Kind words and forgiving of faults are better than Sadaqah(charity)followed by injury. And Allah is rich(free of all needs)and He is most-forbearing"
    "
"AND BE AFRAID OF THE DAY WHEN YOU SHALL BE BROUGHT BACK TO ALLAH.THEN EVERY PERSON SHALL BE PAID WHAT HE EARNED,AND THEY SHALL NOT BE DEALT WITH UNJUSTLY"
Killing an innocent Muslim non muslim is as if killing the humanity as per qoran. How can you doubt your own people who are all inocent.Who are tolerant to non muslims Sikhs,Buddhas,Kps.We muslims believe in the following
“ Perhaps Allah will make friendship between you and those whom you hold as enemies.
And Allah has power (over all things), and Allah is oft-forgiving. Most merciful”
    Sura 60,Al mumtahanah Ayat-7

    Because

“ THE ORIGINATOR OF THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH.WHEN HE DECREES A MATTER,HE ONLY SAYS TO IT:”BE”- AND IT IS. AL BAKARAH-117
So there should be no fear in anyones hearts about any kind of sectarian violence in Kashmir. Our religion does not teach us anything which can feul killings reprisals.I am talking about Muslim Kashmiris and not abour hypocrites and Indian communal agencies.
    Barak Allah fi

  2. @anonymous who just sent an anti-Islamic comment aimed at Mr.Waleed. Sir, I am deleting your comment because this is a forum about Kashmir and Waleed has conveyed an Islamic perspective of the Kashmir issue.

However your post was too ant-Islamic and irrelevant to the discussion and therefore left me no choice but to delete it. If you still want to have a discussion about Islam with Mr. Waleed, may I suggest that you start a thread on the Kashmir Forum where you can post whatever topic you wish without it being censored. the address is Kashmir Forum

Hope to see you debate other Kashmiris there as well.
